The Treasurer/Finance Director for the City is appointed by the City Council. The City Treasurer/Finance Director is the custodian of all City funds and collects property taxes for the State, County, School District and City as required by law. The Treasurer coordinates the collection of all City funds and invests them in the best interest of the City and community. The Treasurer is also responsible for all accounting records of the City, the annual audit, filing reports with the federal and state governments and assists the City Manager with the annual budget.

The City of Ithaca offers the services of a Notary Public. The City Hall has four Notaries and the service is free to residents and tax payers of the City. The service is available to non-residents at a fee of $10.00 per document.
