The Ithaca Police Department is dedicated to servicing the residents, businesses, and visitors of the city of Ithaca, Michigan. The Police Department partners with community members and organizations to prevent crime and provide a safe environment to work and live in.

Ithaca Fire Department - Dave Nelson, Chief

The City boasts a volunteer fire department with 20 active volunteer fire-fighters with very up to date equipment for a City of its size. The Ithaca Fire Department serves Ithaca, as well as seven area townships, totalling 120 square miles.

Fire Chief Dave Nelson coordinates and leads this group of 20 who volunteer their time to serve on the Ithaca Fire Department. Dave is responsible for short and long term planning for the fire department. he prepares and oversees the department budget, plans and reviews new and renovated buildings with the building inspector. He also does fire inspections and provides fire prevention education for the community. In addition, Dave serves on the Local Emergency Planning Committee for the Department of Homeland Security. This highly trained and efficient group of firemen that he leads is responsible for the fire protection of the City of Ithaca and some surrounding townships.

Ithaca Rescue - Matt Gulick, Chief

The Ithaca Rescue is a volunteer squad of 10 personnel, licensed as a Medical First Responder unit by the Michigan Department of Community Health. Responding to both medical and traumtic emergencies, the squad boasts some of the finest equipment available, including two automated external defibrillators. The squad proudly serves the City of Ithaca as well as Arcada, Emerson, Hamilton, LaFayette, Newark, New Haven, and North Star townships.
