Welcome to the City of Ithaca, Michigan!

Nestled in the center of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, Ithaca greets visitors from all corners of the state. Ithaca serves as the county seat of Gratiot County, and is mid-point of the US-127 university corridor of Central Michigan University, Alma College, and Michigan State University. Ithaca also sits about an hour’s drive from Bay City, Saginaw, and Midland; an hour-and-a-half from Big Rapids and Grand Rapids; and about two hours from Detroit and Kalamazoo.

Ithaca – population 3,098 – cherishes its historic small town roots, but strives to grow to meet the demands of the evolving economy. Two industrial parks boast convenient multi-market accessibility, with immediate access to US-127. In addition to these industrial parks, a Michigan Renaissance Zone offers enormous tax incentives for businesses to locate and operate. This industrial core is supported by the strong and diverse agricultural operations that thrive in Gratiot County.
