| The communities within Gratiot County have a rich history of working collaboratively to better serve citizens and strategically invest taxpayer dollars.
A testament to this collaborative spirit is the City of Ithaca's participation with the County of Gratiot, the Cities of Alma and St. Louis, and 16 Townships to jointly develop a Countywide Master Plan, referred to as the Gratiot Regional Excellence And Transformation (GREAT) Plan. In 2008, the GREAT Plan received a service grant from Traverse City, MI based LIAA, a non-profit organization to provide professional assistance in the development of the plan.
It is anticipated the GREAT Plan will be completed by early 2010.
