PRESS RELEASE Ithaca Burglaries
10/1/2010
The City of Ithaca has been experiencing a series of residential burglaries during the month of June and then again during the month of September. Some evidence has been obtained and sent to the Michigan State Police Crime Lab for processing. The person(s) have entered through side windows that are away from direct view of neighbors. The acts have been carried out during the hours of darkness. Televisions and electronic equipment seem to be the items of choice. In three cases money was also taken.
The Ithaca Police Department is advising everyone to make sure their doors and windows are locked during times when they are gone from home. We are also asking for neighbors to heighten their vigilance by watching their neighborhoods and reporting any suspicious activity. Call the Ithaca Police Department at 989-875-2333, or (if you see a burglary in progress) call 911.
